About
If it gaps at the snap, it does not make the edit.
Octave Mandate started in autumn 2019 because we could not find a bodysuit that did what it promised. Sample after sample followed the same pattern: beautiful on the hanger, disappointing by the afternoon. So we started sourcing directly from smaller European ateliers and a handful of domestic manufacturers who were willing to talk fabric weight and stitch density rather than just minimum order quantities. The first edit was twelve pieces, photographed in-house against a plain white wall.
What we care about
- Fabric firstWe only carry pieces where the fabric weight and stretch recovery are tested before anything else. If it pills after two washes, it does not make the edit.
- Cut that holdsA bodysuit that gaps at the snap or rides up by noon is not a bodysuit. Every silhouette in the collection is worn in-house for at least a full day before it ships.
- Honest sizingOur size notes are written by the person who wore the sample, not copied from a manufacturer's chart. If a cut runs small, we say so plainly.
